Tomales Bay State Park (Heart's Desire Beach)

Tomales Bay State Park, a collection of beaches, forests, tidal marshes, and coves, was first inhabited by the Coast Miwok people. Sir Frances Drake first explored the area in 1579 and was followed by the Spanish in the 1590s and Russian & German scientists in the early 1800s. Todays "explorers" enjoy the hiking trails, picnicking areas, wildlife viewing, birdwatching and much more.
